Introduction
Joining a small group is a great way to connect relationally, have fun, and grow together with other members of the body of Christ. Our goal is for everyone who attends Life Center to join a small group. Not all of your needs as a Christian can be met in a large group environment, so meeting regularly with a small group of fellow believers you can trust and enjoy being with is vital.
Small groups are for various ages, needs, and stages of your life. You to not need to know a lot about the Bible to join, and if you want to switch to another group or join more than one, that's fine too! You need to be in a group that you're excited about and enjoy.
Small groups can meet anywhere - in homes, church, outdoors, at a restaurant. There are unlimited possibilities where groups may meet. Groups meet on a weekly to bi-weekly basis.
Becoming Like Christ
Christ made disciples. Becoming one yourself is through a process, which attempts to fulfill several vital functions. It is crucial that to have a balance of several different components in order to have a healthy small group.
Fellowship - to know and be known by others in a small community of care in order to fulfill the "one another" mandates of Scripture - to bear one another's burdens and enjoy each other's company.
Worship - to glorify God in a personal, meaningful way. We are commanded to express our love to God, to praise His name, to exalt Him. As we do so, we are lifted to a new level of spiritual awareness.
Bible Study - to feed on God's Word together, to ask questions and find answers to all the concerns of life, to apply spiritual principles to the challenges of life. We learn best as we share our experiences.
Ministry - to care for one another's needs by truly listening and responding to the deep concerns to life; to be open to one another with spiritual integrity; to reach out to each other's needs.
Prayer - to bring all of our concerns before God in prayer. We try to 'track' our prayers to see how God answers and to be continually encouraged in our faith.
Evangelism - to be continually open to those around us who need to hear the Gospel; to win these to Christ and to integrate them into a relational environment.
Outreach - to become involved in some aspect of care or ministry in the community and beyond; to go on special mission trips.
