More than words
Influencing members of the community to love and follow Christ is so much greater than using persuasive words or a clever argument. We influence by our actions, by loving each other in tangible ways and giving of ourselves to those around us. Though we should expect nothing in return, we always receive more than whatever we give.
This is the core of Christianity - serving each other while pursuing those who have yet to know Him. By reaching out to our community in specific ways, we fulfill Christ's desire when He said, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." (Matthew 25:35-36)
Through programs like Super Club, we reach inner city children and their families. By volunteering in an area that we enjoy, we increase the kingdom of God while finding ourselves closer to Christ than before we volunteered. Through donations from our thrift stores and through the housing center of Life Manor, we take care of those who are struggling to take care of themselves. Through Life Christian School and Academy, we provide godly mentors and teachers to raise up the next generation.
It's all about people. It really is.
