Introduction
If you love the fine arts, then you’re in the right place! Whether you enjoy music, drama, painting, dance, or other arts, we have opportunities for you!
The Worship & Fine Arts Ministries at Life Center currently operate on two interweaving cycles. The choir, ensembles, and soloists practice on a weekly basis and perform during Sunday morning and evening services. Also, three major yearly events - Easter, Patriotic Weekend, and Christmas - bring together many people with diverse skills and backgrounds.
Weekend Services
SATURDAY EVENING SERVICE AT 6 PM
This more contemporary service features passionate worship and a challenging message from Pastor Dean Curry.
SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES AT 8:30, 10:00 AND 11:30 AM
On Sunday mornings, the Worship & Celebration Choir sings, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble. Music is "blended," and varies from classic arrangements to contemporary sounds.
SUNDAY EVENING SERVICE AT 6 PM
The first Sunday night of each month Life Center observes water baptism and Holy Communion. Our Sunday evening services are celebrations of God’s faithfulness in and through the lives His people. You will find the music and worship to be inspirational and familiar in style.
The Worship & Celebration Choir meets each Thursday night at 7:00 pm and each Sunday morning for preparation. No matter your musical background, there is always room for you!
Major Annual Events
Based upon the selection of seasonal music, the theme for each of our major fine arts events is developed through musical story. Thematic elements remain constant, but the program changes every year.
Easter - Starting off each year as the first major event, around the beginning of March skilled laborers and artists with all kinds of backgrounds come together to turn the main sanctuary into ancient Jerusalem. After weeks of preparation, we tell the Easter story. Musicians, dancers, and actors from all age groups work together towards a retelling of the passion play.
A Red, White and Blue Celebration - Celebrating our national heritage in the context of a Christian community is an important part of Life Center. Our Red, White and Blue Celebration takes place the first week of July and includes a tribute to those who have made, and continue to make sacrifices to guarantee our freedoms.
Christmas – The final major event of each year involves another complete transformation of the main sanctuary. Beginning in early November, volunteers with trade skills and artists of various fields work together to create an unbelievable Christmas inside the main sanctuary. Work party nights are scheduled for most of the major stage creation, and it’s a fun time of working together and getting to know one another. In December, performances take place – over a dozen – featuring the Singing Christmas Tree, with ensembles of singers and dancers from divergent age groups featured in a festive holiday setting.
